We recently noted that Lululemon was one of the first retailers to offer customers virtual online shopping experience with a personal educator, face to face, camera to camera, pixel to pixel, on video.
Trust Amazon not to miss on someone else’s good idea. And now, the retail and everything behemoth is catering to the male shopper.
Dear men, it’s called Amazon’s Personal Shopper, and it’s at your service.
“Some of the top motivators men asked to use this service for include convenience of having someone else shop for them, help putting together outfits, improvement of their existing wardrobe and guidance to keep up with trends,” Amazon said.
As a direct competitor of Stich Fix, an online personal styling service in the United States – Amazon charges a quarter of the price for a stylist and has additional perks and benefits that are unbeatable.
Not only is the whole experience curated specifically to the shopper’s style and personal taste, but customers can also choose up to eight items to try on at home for free, with their “Try before you buy them” offer.
For home try-ons, items are shipped to the customer on a monthly basis. And with free returns using a resealable box and return label inside each, customers have up to seven days to decide if they’re happy with their new looks.
Major fashion brands like Scotch & Soda, Adidas, Lacoste, Levi’s, and so many more will be available to shop via the Personal Shopper. Amazon’s own in-house brands will also be up for grabs.

The service comes at a great time too, as customers don’t need to step inside stores to try things on – answering to social distancing guidelines and extra safety measures consumers are still taking due to the pandemic.
Right now, it is only available for U.S. shoppers on Amazon’s mobile app. If it’s successful enough though, slowly but surely – it’ll get global. And you can expect more such services to pop up. We will keep updating on the most significant ones.
