P&G is drawing on TikTok to reinforce the practice of social distancing and to rally community engagement
As we saw in Sharing is Caring, brands are reaching out to their customer base to promote positive social media engagement amid the coronavirus pandemic. As part of its positioning its brand as a force for good, P&G is drawing on TikTok to reinforce the practice of social distancing and to rally community engagement.
As P&G explained on its site:
“Staying at home and avoiding large groups of people will slow the spread of the virus and save someone’s life. Looking for some fun at home? Make a TikTok #DistanceDance video and help encourage social distancing — your moves will be a force for good.”
The idea is not just to do good for society at large by exercising your #DistanceDance to impede the spread of infection. It’s also about doing your part to get 3 million videos posted in order to prompt the company to donate supplies for the needy.

This is just one example of how the TikTok platform is being leveraged for marketing amid coronavirus that will be explored in more detail in an upcoming article.
