Blue Moon’s 2021 Holiday Sweater is Called the Vax Card-igan

The beer brand came up with a way to be there with their customers even during non-drinking times

Sometimes truth is weirder than fiction. “After all, unusual times call for unusual holiday sweaters,” declares Blue Moon.

That’s actually funny.

And, while some people may want to forget the unusual times brought upon us by the global pandemic, for those who want to remember or who’d like a new variation on the traditional holiday-time ugly sweater with a handy pocket – this may just be just the perfect ticket.

Let’s just forget the fact that most people now keep their vaccination proof on the phone and assume that they keep the little card in an actual pocket. Then it kind of makes sense that you’d need a handy pocket in your cardigan to pull out that proof to enter the bar.

That’s the underlying justification for naming this “holiday sweater unlike any other” for the vax. But if anyone actually responds in a manner that can be described as “wow-I-love-your-cardigan-where-did-you-get-that-y,” they’ve probably already had one beer too many.

But, as we’ve seen in The Bride Wore Busch Beer Camo, some devoted costumes really do want to show their love for a beer brand in what they wear.  With a sweater, you do get to wear your heart on your sleeve.

Doing so won’t cut too much into your beer money. All three styles of this cardigan are priced at just $20.21. As noted on the site, “The first and hopefully last year we’ll have to wear these 😊.”

It’s a fair price for basically wearing an advertisement.

Also, you have to give Blue Moon credit for coming up with a creative approach to the holiday sweater, pricing it affordably, and offering the proceeds to the U.S. Bartenders Guild, which supports bartenders during difficult times.

No doubt, many fans of the beer will buy it for laughs and for those Instagrammable shots. If they then label them with #VAXCARDIGAN, though, remains to be seen.
