Living a fantasy may be a priceless experience, but when the price tag put on is very low – that’s a savvy marketing move.

For this holiday season, rental platform Vascasa teamed up with Dr. Seuss Enterprises to offer the chance to live like the Grinch in the 5,700 square foot  Mt. Crumpit Cave. The themed living space, located just outside of Boulder, Utah, includes a kitchen, master bedroom, guest bedroom, study, plus a music room with props and features straight out of the fictional presentation.

Perhaps even more remarkable than the entire fantasy coming to life is the bargain price on offer for it — just  $19.57. That extremely specific number was a nod to the book’s original publication year of 1957.

At this point, you may, indeed, exclaim what another irascible fictional character from the holiday story genre has remarked: “Bah, humbug!” That’s because all the dates for that rate are already sold out, and all the site can offer you is the poor substitute of a virtual tour.

But the bust for those Grinch wannabes is still a win for the brand. The lure of the themed space coupled with the special price tag drove a lot of attention on a variety of news outlets.

It is also pretty safe to assume this whole thing gained Vascasa a lot of attention from people who had never even heard of it before. No doubt, these folks have brains in their heads…
