10 Times Brands Made Us Laugh on Social Media

** Just a nice, light post to cheer you up!

Be kind, please rewind to the good ol’ Blockbuster video days.

After 6 long years, the world’s most popular video rentals chain just released a couple of Tweets.

What’s the news? Blockbuster teamed up with Air BnB to offer travelers the chance to spend the night at the last existing Blockbuster store in the world. It’s at an independently owned store located in Oregon, U.S. and will be available for just $4 a night. Who’s ready for a movie night sleepover?

And here are the top 10 times brands made us giggle:

1. Wendy’s –Wendy’s is known for its funny posts that are so simple, so good. This post got 1.7K retweets and comments. Not only are the fries dreaming about those white cheese sauce and bacon fries, so are we.

2. Zendesk – Roses are red, violets are blue, we loved Zendesk’s rhyming post and so should you. Simply because they’re known to be spot on with their words, and the poem reminds us of Mother’s Day in elementary school. 😊

3. Old Spice – When you think of Old Spice, you think of a horse or the man you can smell like, right? Either way, no one can beat the power of Old Spice’s iconic ads.

A better way to define your VIPs

4. Whole Foods Market – This post made me want to do nothing more in the world than click on it just to find that enlarged image of rich chocolate, mouthwatering cake – yummm.

5. Netflix – ‘Cuz everyone can relate to this one and, of course, if the lawyers are single, LOL.

6. Starbucks – The colors rock. If you don’t try it, you’ll get FOMO.

And we had to add this one in for corona time’s sake – from the agency network in the U.K.

7. Charmin – So true! Also, very clever, and suitable to the brand’s marketing strategy.

Interesting that it’s kinda relevant to a few months back when the toilet paper crisis first hit at the start of the pandemic and as we slowly, slowly start making our way back to the office.

8. Oreo Cookies – Although a controversial post – it’s so weird, it actually becomes good, and mm mm that dunking. The post got 32.2K retweets and comments, too!

9. Denny’s – Weird, gross, funny. Well, the brand is known to appeal to a pothead target audience and so, is it really that weird and gross? Actually, it’s kinda funny!

10. Chipotle – Very witty and fun! And please people, we hope it’s not you!

And to end things off, here’s BK’s very creative and fun way to ask customers to create facemasks for drive thru orders, no speaking involved:
