But maybe not this year. Panera Bread is celebrating Valentine’s Day by giving away 22 lab-grown diamond rings. The rings will feature a baguette-cut diamond, surrounded by smaller stones, and will come in a box designed like Panera’s Bread Bowl, perfect for surprising your partner.
People can enter the contest by posting a picture on Twitter or Instagram of themselves eating Panera, tagging the company’s account. Hopefuls should also include the hashtags #sweepstakes and #paneradate in their captions. In a tweet, Panera said the contest will run from February 14 to February 18, 2022. If rings aren’t really your thing, winners will also receive a free year of coffee at Panera, which it offers through its Unlimited Sip Club coffee subscription service.
The Saint Louis, Missouri-based Panera Bread is attempting to capitalize on two unlikely celebrations that are happening back-to-back this year: the Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day. The company released a statement saying: “Panera Bread (“Panera”) believes that diamonds (especially baguettes!) shouldn’t be for just Big Game winners or Valentine’s Day engagements. They should perk you up every day just like Panera unlimited coffee.” Panera is using the opportunity to promote its coffee subscription program, which gives subscribers access to unlimited hot and iced coffee, as well as hot tea, for $8.99 per month.
What’s better than a bread bowl with one of their delicious soups? A bread bowl with a diamond ring.
