Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, TikTok has steadily expanded its live-streaming tools for creators and brands to keep their audiences entertained. While previous features have focused on areas like social commerce, recent developments have shown that TikTok is attempting to win more favor with creators.

Earlier this month, the company announced it was exploring its first revenue-sharing program for profiles that meet a certain follower threshold. In addition, TikTok promoted a new premium ad format called Pulse at the May showcase for marketers and media buyers.

“LIVE Subscription is an extension of our efforts to build diversified creator monetization opportunities that suit a range of creator needs,“ TikTok said in a company blog post. “LIVE Subscription gives creators the opportunity to increase their earnings while continuing to grow their community and also provides engaged communities an opportunity to thank their favorite creators on a regular basis.”
