The CRM space is a tricky one because when you say CRM you could be talking about the B2B kind, where (mostly) salespeople are managing their 1-to-1 communications with (mostly) prospects. Or you could be talking about the B2C kind, where marketers are using tons of existing customer data to sync and execute and manage their omnichannel relationship marketing campaigns (i.e communications sent to existing customers, as opposed to customer acquisition and communicating with prospects).
But this week, and for the sake of this article – CRM is CRM is CRM. And so, when SalesForce (the kings and queens of B2B CRM) is acquiring Slack, and when Facebook is buying Kustomer (a B2C CRM marketing technology), we wrap them both in one 3-minute video, giving you all the context you need to be able to talk about it with colleagues. And friends. That’s if you’re in the business of alienating them.
