Ads We Love: October’s Hottest Ad Drops

As the internet continues to lose it over Adele’s comeback single, here’s a run-down of ads that caught our eyes this October

Lego: Let’s get the world ready for girls

For International Day of the Girl, this Lego spot features entrepreneurial girls rebuilding the world through creativity.

Why we love this ad: Lego celebrates girl empowerment and highlights how confidence can be built through play.

Babyganics: Wheels

From childrenhaving supermarket melt-downs to WFH interruptions, Babyganics shows how chaotic parenting can be. The ad is humorously set to the song “the wheels on the bus,” with new imperfect parenting lyrics that remind parents they aren’t alone.

Why we love this ad: We love how Babyganics acknowledges parenting isn’t a fairytale and challenges today’s cultural conversation of what it means to be a perfect parent.

Ford: Built wild

In this soft, romantic, and feminine ad from Ford, we see women in the wild, driving to different destinations.

Why we love this ad: We love how Ford steps away from the “hyper-masculine” theme we often see in auto ads and explores what an auto commercial could be like through the female gaze.

Ikea: Every home should be a haven

A father and daughter are enjoying quality time while, huge animated teddy bears get rid of any potential distractions. The Teddy Bears move furniture out of the way to make room for play and crush a phone when a work call threatens to disrupt daddy and daughter time.

Why we love this ad: We love how IKEA uses this commercial to connect with consumers’ need for their home to provide a happy and comfortable space. IKEA doesn’t just sell furniture, they’re selling the idea that their products help create a home.

Taco Bell: Beach

A young woman meets a guy at a beach party and heads to the ocean with him. As she’s about to kiss him, she realizes she needs to eat a taco so she ends the romance and heads to a Taco Bell restaurant.

John Lewis: Let life happen

This fun spot features a young boy creatively expressing himself whilst dancing to Stevie Nicks’s Edge of Seventeen.

Why we love this ad: We love this ad for its playful and dramatic storyline.
